Blueberries

Now that it's August I can't wait to start picking blueberries! There is a pick-your-own in a neighboring town that I'm hoping will have some ripe berries today. If it's still a little too early I'm hoping I may be able to get a couple of handfuls of raspberries even though it's getting late to pick them.

One of my favorite things to make is Blueberry Buckle. It's sort of like a crumble/cobbler and is simply divine! I'll definitely be making it this season so I'll post a picture as soon as I do. I'm still searching for the perfect blueberry muffin recipe so if anyone has one that they think is good, please pass it along to me. I've tried several and they're either too sweet, not sweet enough, too bland...please help!

Last night my husband and I went to see Click. I thought it was surprisingly good given all the negative comments it received. It was in typical Adam Sandler style which suited my mood perfectly last night. We went to one of our favorite spots: Route One Cinema Pub, which is a theater that has tables and chairs set up (instead of just theater seats) so you can eat while watching the movie. They serve bar food and beer and wine and the movie is only $5 so it's a great place to go. Unfortunately, I ordered cheese fries last night (I know, not a very healthy dinner!) and I ended up with some sort of meat in them. I couldn't quite figure out what it was since it was dark but it was definitely meat and should not have been in my fries. I told the waitress and she thankfully did not charge us for them. Ah the struggles of a vegetarian...

Sorry I missed the blueberry picking and Cinema Pub. Sounds like you guys had a great weekend though.
